Vernon Home Remodel

This project was all about honoring the past while designing for the future. Our client—now raising her own family—set out to transform the beloved home she grew up in into their forever home. Partnering with CBI Architects, we reimagined the layout to better support the needs of this growing family while preserving the charm and character that made the house so special. One of the biggest transformations came from removing a secondary staircase to the second floor, which allowed us to dramatically expand what was once a small, closed-off kitchen into a spacious, light-filled hub complete with a walk-in pantry and a dedicated dining area.

An addition into the existing garage created a functional new mudroom providing an organized and welcoming transition from the garage into the new kitchen. Upstairs, the removal of the staircase also made room for a brand-new laundry room, relocating from the basement to the second floor near the bedrooms - a must for a growing family!

At the heart of the home, the kitchen showcases bespoke cabinetry by WeissWorks, a lime-washed hood surround with a beautiful quartz backlash, and a curved custom island that adds a modern edge while remaining true to the home’s traditional roots. This renovation gave a house full of cherished memories a beautiful new life, tailored for the next generation.
